FoodEng Recruitment is proud to be supporting S4 Engineering with the appointment of an Automation & Control Project Engineer
This role will report to the Software Director and be responsible for delivering software on a wide range of projects in the food and beverage industry. We are looking for an experienced engineer who shares the company’s ethos combining a can-do attitude with positive customer focus.

S4 Engineering provide a design, fabrication, and install service for process equipment in to factory’s. This includes totally automated PLC and SCADA systems capable of full integration and compliance.
You will be responsible for handling the full software project life cycle. This includes capturing client requirements, writing specifications, developing (PLC/HMI/SCADA) software, producing manuals, system testing, client acceptance testing, on site commissioning, and continued support.
You will be responsible for delivering projects within agreed timescales and budgets. You will work with the end client, other departments, external suppliers, and project managers to deliver projects.

You will mainly work at our UK office, but also expect to travel for meetings and commissioning which is also generally in the UK. From time to time this may include unsociable hours.
We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious individual who is great at communicating and has a good eye for detail. For the right candidate, a competitive package will be agreed depending on experience and skills. This will include salary, pension, holiday, and a bonus scheme.
You would have: -
- At least 5 years PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming experience in the food industry.
- Worked with Allen Bradley RSLogix, FactoryTalk View; Siemens TIA Portal; GE Proficy iFix.
- Knowledge of setting up control equipment (invertors/flowmeters), electrical panels and drawings, process drawings (P&ID), liquid handling, and process equipment (pumps/valves).
- A driving License and Passport.
And ideally: -
- Be good at fault finding and problem-solving.
- Have knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Access, Project, Excel, and Word.
- Have experience with Siemens, Step 7, Step 5, WinCC; Mitsubishi; Bejiers; and Proface.
