Business Development Manager 

This is a great opportunity to join a global engineering group involved in the supply of high-value capital equipment and process machinery to multiple manufacturing sectors.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role will focus on the sale of high-value capital equipment across unique customer applications and the development of new markets. You can be home-based anywhere in the UK, but you must be flexible to travel internationally.

About the Role:

  • Responsible for the sales process from initial enquiry through to project handover
  • Develop successful sales strategies to achieve profitable growth
  • Interpret customer needs and offer suitable machinery/equipment that will meet their specific application
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Conduct market research, including customer trends and competitor activities
  • Conduct factory appraisals and prepare machinery quotations
  • Negotiate with customers on machinery prices, contracts and project lead times
  • Attend trade shows and organise local marking activities
  • Provide regular Sales forecasting reports

Suitable applicants will hold the following skills and experience:

  • A proven Business Development/Sales Manager with Capital Equipment experience
  • Qualified in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • A strong communicator with excellent negotiation and presentation skills

Salary & Benefits:

  • Basic salary between £60,000 to £80,000 pa (salary level dependant on experience)
