Design Manager/Senior Design Engineer

A rapidly growing engineering business that specialises in the manufacture of bespoke production equipment is looking for an experienced Design Manager/Senior Design Engineer to join their expanding team and lead a small group of design engineers.

Responsibilities for the Design Manager/Senior Design Engineer:

• Manage a team of 5 design engineers (mechanical and electrical).
• Oversee the design process from concept to completion.
• Work alongside your team and be hands-on in the production of designs.
• Manage the workload of your team, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with other departments such as manufacturing, sales and projects, to ensure that designs meet customer needs and expectations.
• Mentoring and coaching team members, promoting professional growth and development.

Applicant Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in a machinery design environment.
• Proficient in the use of SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor.
• Excellent design calculation skills.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday – 8am to 4.30pm
• Friday – 8am to 1pm

Salary & Benefits:

• Negotiable Basic salary (salary level dependent on skills and experience).
