Engineering Manager
We are currently seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to join an established manufacturing business based in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team of maintenance engineers, managing the engineering function on-site, and ensuring the delivery of a robust planned maintenance system and continuous improvement program.
The role will encompass both hands-on maintenance activities as well as management/paperwork duties, with a roughly equal split of 50% for each area.
The company is investing in new automation for the next year, and the Engineering Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of these projects, along with other site improvement initiatives.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all engineering activities on site.
- Lead a small team of maintenance engineers.
- Allocating workload and PPM schedules.
- Lead machinery installation and development projects.
- Support customer audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Reduce machinery downtime, reduce waste, and improve capacity.
- Budget management and coordination.
Suitable applicants will hold the following skills and experiences:
- A background working within a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Previous engineering/maintenance team leadership experience.
- A strong track record of implementing maintenance improvements.
- Experience in the delivering of capital projects.
- An effective communicator, able to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary between £45,000 to £50,000 pa (Negotiable).
