An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer looking to pursue a career within Mechanical Design in a role offering further development. This profitable and expanding Engineering company, operating within a growing niche market, is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their small but highly skilled team of Engineers.
The Role
The role will involve the Mechanical Design of Special Purpose Machinery with moving parts, with bespoke specialist solutions manufactured inhouse and supplied to customers worldwide:
- Days Monday to Thursday, Friday Half Day with 1pm finish.
- Oversee Machinery design projects.
- Design of bespoke machinery from initial concept through to manufacture.
- Create 3D models and produce 2D drawings for in-house manufacturing.
- Produce, modify and verify design drawings.
- Produce 3D design models using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Produce Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Play a key role in R&D Projects.
- Liaise directly with customers and suppliers both UK and Overseas.
- Work closely with Projects, Purchasing, Assembly, Manufacturing.
The Person
- Experienced in the design of Special Purpose Machinery or Capital Equipment used within Industry.
- Competent with 3D CAD packages, ideally SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, sheet metal and fabrication processes.
- Excellent attention to detail.
