Located close to Blackburn, this well-established and profitable company designs Special Purpose Machinery. As well as inhouse Design, they Manufacture and sell their Capital Equipment to a variety of Customers and Industries around the World.

Their commitment to innovation and product quality has resulted in a growing order book and many repeat customers. To underpin further growth, they are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

The Mechanical Design Engineer role:

Great working hours: 8am-4.30pm - 1pm Finish every Friday.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge machinery solutions.Utilising your expertise in SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.Fabrication and sheet metal design.Production of sheet metal designs and detailed assembly drawingsConducting feasibility studies and prototyping to ensure design concepts are viable.Preparing machinery documentation and manualsThe Mechanical Design Engineer appointed will produce Bill of Materials (BOM’s)Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.Participating in design reviews and providing technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams.Be part of internal projects aimed at improving existing designs and manufacturing processes.The equipment is manufactured on-site, so you will see your designs come to life, and add your input to the build process.Opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.Exposure to interesting and challenging and rewarding engineering projects.

The Person:

Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering.Mechanical Design Engineer skilled and experienced with SolidWorks.Good knowledge of mechanical, sheet metal and fabrication processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
