Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge machinery solutions.
- Utilising your expertise in SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Production of sheet metal designs and detailed assembly drawings
- Conducting feasibility studies and prototyping to ensure design concepts are viable.
- Preparing machinery documentation and manuals
- Producing Bill of Materials (BOM’s)
- Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Participating in design reviews and providing technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams.
The equipment is designed and manufactured on-site in Blackburn, so you will witness your machinery designs being built first-hand and take part in internal projects aimed at improving existing designs and manufacturing processes.
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, sheet metal and fabrication processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
