A successful Blackburn / Accrington based Engineering firm seeks an experienced Quality Engineer. This progressive and fast-growing engineering business is involved in the design, manufacture, and supply of industrial machinery to companies around the world. Due to recent growth and focus on the customer, they are seeking to add an additional Quality Engineer to their high-performing Engineering team.

This is an office-based role with occasional travel. Travel is mainly in UK, usually travelling to visit sub-contractors, with perhaps one overseas visit a year.

The Role

Manage, maintain and update Quality documentation and systems.Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment and Machinery Safety legislations.Assess opportunities to improve product quality and reduced manufacturing costs.Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.Work with customers, sub-contractors and third-party suppliers on Non-Conformance issues.Introduce improved methods of quality inspection and procedures.Support calibration and pre-delivery inspection activities.Maintain processes and implement improvements where appropriate.Work with internal contacts and suppliers on Quality Improvement Plans and actions.Use the tools and techniques of CI and Lean to assess and improve product quality and address costs.

The Person

Previous Quality Engineering experience within a relevant engineering/manufacturing environment.Good use and knowledge of Problem-Solving Techniques.Ability to interpret and read technical engineering drawings and welding symbols.Familiar with recognised quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001.Be a qualified Engineer to HNC, HND, BSc level or equivalent.Mechanically biased Engineer
