Robotics Engineer - Avon/Somerset - £35,000 pa £42,500 pa

This organisation assists manufacturing businesses to utilise Robotics and Automation to improve costs and efficiency. Their systems and process machinery brings together advanced technology, machine learning, and human machine interface to create intelligent robotic automation that solves complex production challenges.

Working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment the Robotics Engineer will develop concepts, test and validate designs, review designs versus specification, select robots, conduct risk assessments, be involved in technology builds and assist with the installation of technological systems at customer sites. 

There will also be involvement with procurement and appraising the suitability of vendors, suppliers and partners. Technology you will be involved with includes collaborative robots (cobots), vision inspection systems, pick and place technology, various control system interfaces, end of arm tooling, material handling, multiple conveyor systems, automated inspection. 

Applicants should be inquisitive, proactive and have experience in industrial automation and knowledge in robotics. There is a requirement for occasional travel both domestically and internationally (post-covid). Software development experience within Python, C++ or Javascript is also expected and experience of Machine Vision Systems, PLC’s, HMI’s, ABB robots, Kuka robots, would also assist.

Applicants may hold a degree in an allied subject or have expansive relevant work experience that overrides the requirement to hold a degree. Relevant degree’s would include: Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering. 

This is a role where you will be challenged to learn ever-changing new technologies and take an active interest in new products and concepts within the global Automation and Robotics landscape, and how such products and concepts could potentially be used to solve problems for customers.
