Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrically Biased)

Shift Pattern: 4-on, 4-off, (4 x 12-hour days, 4 x 12-hour nights).

A Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer is sought after by a leading business in the food manufacturing industry, with the responsibility of taking on a range of duties in a state-of-the-art factory to maintain the production of top-quality goods to be used by many UK households and sold nationally to major retailers.

In this role the main duties of the appointed Maintenance Engineer would revolve around:

  • Delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Collaborate with a team of skilled maintenance engineers, reporting to the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Responding safely and swiftly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
  • Ensuring that all necessary spare parts, materials, and equipment are available.
  • Ensuring correct setup of all production lines to maximise output.

In particular, the appointed candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a maintenance engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Be apprentice-trained with City and Guilds or HNC qualifications are highly desired.
  • Be Electrically Biased

Ideally, this role requires a person who has knowledge/experience working with the following:

  • Conveyors
  • Vertical form fillers
  • Sachet Fillers
  • Vacuum Sealers
  • Hoppers
  • Spiral Freezers
  • PLC’s
  • Inverter Drives

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary of around £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, including shift allowance.
  • Overtime pay at x1.5 rate.
