Technical Sales Specialist
Location: Surrey
Salary £41,000 pa + Bonus (circa £10,000)
The business is a supplier of high-value industrial machinery, and also offer industry leading after sales services. They are now seeking a Technical Sales Specialist (internal) to provide comprehensive After Sales support to the customer, ensuring customer machinery needs are supported.
The Role
This role may appeal to a Field based Engineer who wants to be customer-facing but without the need to travel, or perhaps an Internal Sales person with technical understanding of high value machinery.
Site based in Surrey, this role also has an element of Work From Home. Hours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours. There is also potential to gain promotion to the role of After Sales Manager.
Duties
- Establish and maintain an understanding of specialist machinery, enabling you to provide expert technical support to customers via telephone and email.
- Address customer queries and resolve issues relating to the supply and service of machinery.
- Work as the 'number 2' to the After Sales Manager, deputising in their absence.
- Provide technical and administrative support within the After Sales department, prepare and submit reports on service activities.
- Identification of Spare Parts, sourcing of spare parts, reading of technical drawings, and manage the expectations of the customer.
- Identify and actively generate sales opportunities for the After Sales function.
- Identify opportunities to sell After Market Service contracts, liaising with existing customers to extend Service Contracts, prepare After Market Service proposals and negotiate terms and conditions with customers.
- Assist with Spare Part inventory.
- Receive Spare Parts, deal with foreign currency, allocate Spare Parts to inventory stock, release Spare Parts to customers.
- Manage the availability of Spare Parts, ensure core stock items are available to customers, work closely with couriers and freight companies and keep the customer informed on the availability of Spare Parts.
- Manage the diaries of Service Engineers, arrange for Service Engineers to attend customer sites to conduct: routine service, breakdown repairs, installation work.Maintain accurate records of: sales activity, service visits, repairs, customer interactions.
- Maintain strong productive relations with colleagues, including Service Engineers, Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Inventory team, Directors.
- Communicate with customers on technical queries, provide technical support to customers remotely.
- Monitor and evaluate customer feedback.

- Applicants should have technical knowledge of Industrial Machinery, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Plant.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remotely understand issues customers are experiencing with Machinery.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Self-motivated, commercially aware with the ability to work independently.
